Tanzania & Zanzibar

Tanganyika joined Zanzibar in 1964 to form the United Republic of Tanzania. A truly unique corner of East Africa with hundreds of kilometers of white sand coastline, the highest mountain in Africa – Mount Kilimanjaro, and a multitude of national parks including the Serengeti.

One can observe the great migration crossing the Mara river in the early morning and swimming in crystal clear waters in Zanzibar in the afternoon. One can be trekking with Chimpanzees on the shores of Lake Tanganyika on another morning and be starting their ascent of Africa’s highest mountain that same afternoon. With over 120 different tribal groups it has a rich and diverse culture. Some of the tribes like the Masaai you will have heard of and others lesser known like the Hadzabe that date for many thousands of years in this area. With a wonderfully hospitable group of people to host your journey, Tanzania is truly a special place to visit.
