Cyprus

This Mediterranean island is considered a real crossroads for this part of the world. It is the third-largest and third-most populated island in the Mediterranean, and although part of Europe it can geographically be mistaken for a part of the Middle East. A culturally rich destination with many endemic traditions and cuisines, it has the advantage of having both a beautiful coastline and a mountain massif in the center giving rise to the saying that you could be snow skiing at Trodos and half an hour later water skiing on the coastline.  Cyprus is also historically very rich with Neolithic sites, dating back to 8,000 years all the way through the Crusade where Richard the Lion-heart used it as a base right through the Ottoman empire.

This has resulted in a vast variety of architectural and historic sites. With an average temperate of 24 degrees celsius on the coastline, it is also said that Cyprus receives around 350 days of sunshine every year.
