Botswana

Botswana is a landlocked country in Southern Africa, it is topographically flat with up to 70% of its area in the Kalahari Desert. With a very small population for the country size, it ends up being one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world.

Botswana has many diverse areas of wildlife habitat. In the northwest, one of the world’s largest inland deltas, the Okavango Delta becomes home to most of this wildlife. In the north also lies the Makadikadi pans, this salt pan situated in the middle of the dry savannah is one of the largest salt flats in the world., it is all that remains of the one’s enormous lake Makadikadi which cover an area larger than Switzerland. The now endangered African Wild dog is found in one of the last remaining large population groups in Chobe National Park and also found in the same Chobe district is the world’s largest concentration of African elephants. With a such rich diversity of landscape and wildlife, this is a fascinating safari destination in southern African.
